LAMA student and alumni bands will be providing entertainment during Shop Indie Day this Saturday, November 30 in Pasadena. More than 25 Playhouse District businesses are involved; this is a great day to hang in the community, listen to music and receive special discounts at all the stores. Those who visit six businesses are entered to win an iPad Air.
LAMA performances include Mary Ashley at 11am, Fernanda Alba at 1pm and BLOOM at Vroman’s at 3pm. Looking forward to seeing you Saturday!
LAMA drum grad and Costa Rican Santiago Roberts (yes, the happy man holding drumsticks in the photo above) and his band Billy the Kid just played the Nacional Institute in Chile, a school taken over by students protesting the state of education in Chile (where 25% of the education is financed by the government). Santiago and his group are the first international band in Chile’s history to play in a school taken over by protesting students.
Looks like it was quite a scene Santiago, but please be safe out there!
What are you up to Saturday, June 1st? If your answer was “don’t know yet” then you better make plans to be on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena. The event is Make Music Pasadena 2013. The reason we are so passionate about it? LAMA will be heavily represented there with current students and alumni bands performing. There are two stages where these performances will be taking place the “Old Pasadena Indie Rock Stage” and “Vroman’s Jazz Stage”. We have posted the schedule and stage info below. Hope to see you there! Make sure to RSVP on our Facebook event page here.
